Community Service Opportunities

Sisters supporting the American Diabetes Association

As members of Gamma Phi Omega, our goal of community service unites us in our efforts to contribute to the betterment of our society.   Through our philanthropic efforts, we not only empower ourselves and those living in our surrounding communities, but also bring continued awareness to issues that are affecting lives on a daily basis. Phi Alpha Alumnae Chapter, along with our undergraduate chapters and alumnae charters, is committed to other service projects that are key in our local communities.

In striving to bring issues to the forefront and create awareness, Gamma Phi Omega, has chosen the American Diabetes Association as our organization's national philanthropy.  According to the Centers for Disease Control, diabetes is the leading health issue for Latinos living in the US.  Statistics released by the American Diabetes Association indicate that in the age group of 20 years and older, the percentage of Hispanics diagnosed with diabetes is nearly twice as much as non-Hispanic whites.

For community service opportunities, please contact Philanthropy Chair.

Phi Alpha Alumnae Chapter was able to donate 15+ large bags of unwrapped toys to Gift Marts in the Chicagoland ares of Aurora and Joliet!  Thank you to all our sisters, family, and friends that donated items to make this Holiday Toy Drive a success!
